It’s more than that— he wants women to stay home and raise babies, not advance in their women-dominated careers.

Umm, the signature policy commonly known as Obamacare?

I had no idea Cheney was still alive, until I heard that he’d died. I’m glad I didn’t have to think about him and his dark soul at all for the last decade or so of his life.

Not true everywhere— my kids’ high school lets anyone play any JV sport even if they have never played before—- tennis, lacrosse, football, soccer etc. The only exception is boys basketball because they have a very limited number of player spots.

A do-nothing congress is actually best case scenario in my opinion.

Pathetic!!
June 8, 2025 at 1:25 AM
That worked out well for Ross Perot.
June 6, 2025 at 10:30 PM
Well he doesn’t know how to drive so he’s probably forgotten it’s there.

He has stock that can potentially be worth 200 billion if he sells it; but if he sells too much the price plummets. And he’s very leveraged with loans also, because he never wants to sell stock (and pay taxes) to have the cash to buy his next project.

He’s not taking a more liberal position though- he’s calling for more austerity not higher taxes on billionaires.
June 4, 2025 at 8:39 PM
Right, this is going to increase our trade deficit as people find other sources for American exports!
June 4, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Doesn’t lowering the rate increase inflation?
June 4, 2025 at 1:08 PM
I’m not sure DJT is capable of feeling embarrassment! He seems utterly shameless.
June 3, 2025 at 7:37 PM
But DJT is sitting at the president’s desk, and impeachment isn’t happening, so EM is not in a position of strength no matter what intel he has.
June 3, 2025 at 7:34 PM
By saying it doesn’t DOGE enough, it is urging more austerity. Except when it comes to subsidies for Elon— he’s ok with those.
June 2, 2025 at 3:11 PM
It’s not a gift— he’s among those saying we need to cut everything that makes the government work for the people and only keep what makes it work for the leader and Elon. It’s not a helpful message.

I’m reading Good Dirt right now and despite not having a driving plot it’s hard to put down. I think I’d describe it as a coming of age book but with that key developmental moment delayed about a decade or more from the usual teenaged point.

NY Times is about as mainstream as it gets.

I thought we cared about being mean to Jewish people this week? Doesn’t that rule out the Nazi symbols?
May 30, 2025 at 6:26 PM
His post basically says he fixed a problem he created and now we are back where he THINKS we started (in “China selling us things is very unfair to us” land)
May 30, 2025 at 6:19 PM
This is such a small monetary claim— a lot to him but lawyers won’t take cases worth less than what their fees to handle the case would be. But a lawyer might take it if the author could collect enough authors unpaid by the same publisher.
May 30, 2025 at 1:38 PM
No MAGA is going to read a post that long.
May 30, 2025 at 1:33 AM
Every once in a while he randomly says fentynal, completely out of context, because he remembers that was what supposedly justified him grabbing tariff power from Congress. It’s almost comical.
May 29, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Well if his hat says it, it must be true.
