making this account to rant about pens into the void
I do eventually only use kakuno and twsbi eco that I already have, like why do I want other pens... 🤔

wanting a really average pen for 20 years is ridiculous. lol
I have gotten more random pens inbetween and they get casted aside, and I feel like I shouldn't buy more pens just because I want them.

I got my pilot prera last year. I first wanted it also like 20 years ago, and it was expensive then, and seeing it in a shop for 5000 yen made me decide to not get it, but I managed to get it for CA$25 somehow.. that makes me rethink, if that want never gets erased, maybe I should just get it?

wondering if I should ask the shop to see if they could retrieve it and send it through a different courier instead but also um yeah 🙃

After a bunch of research, it just turns out Hong Dian forest, Jinhao 82, and Kaweco Perkeo all uses the same no.5 26mm nib, so well, I will just swap the nibs of the pens I have then 🤔 I could still get either an M or B nib bc the Jinhao nib is ugly meanwhile forest nibs come in rainbow LOL

Someone's Reddit post of their Hong Dian rainbow forest inspired this swap because it looked like a nib that could fit into the Kaweco and Hong Dian sells spare nibs. I have always wanted to swap the Perkeo F nib to something else, because I have too many fine nib pens 😭

I'd be all for it if they just make holeless kakuno. The grip is really perfect for my hand.

I'm really liking the pen so far. It's longer than Prera by ~1.5cm which I prefer, but it's a twist cap so Prera is better. Both Prera and 78G don't have children breathe holes so the cap seals seem better. I plugged up the holes in kakuno but can I get all these 3 things in one pen? 😂

it would have worked better if the thinner lines were blue instead hahaha

I have used other Faber-Castell art supplies, mainly the pigment ink pens, and find them alright but also kind of mediocre. This pen is now furthering the brand as generally mediocre imo.

I got so annoying at using it to draw because omg the blue ink (FC school pen) doesn't want to come out so I finished the drawing with the trusty kakuno (black ink).

It's a M nib, broader than my TWSBI ECO M, perfect for my purpose, except it probably is a dud because it hard starts every other word. My attempt at fixing it probably made it worse. It's so frustrating that, if I had to use this pen as a child, I would probably end up hating fountain pens.

One of the consistent feelings I get from getting other new pens is that... why even buy new pens anymore, because at the end I'm going to go back to Kakuno anyway. 🙈

I'm more of a practical user than a collector, but since I'm an artist, I always want to try new pens, so I end up with too many pens sometimes. All my fountain pens are the cheaper range, most expensive is TWSBI ECO and Pilot Prera so you get the idea.

I wasn't trying to buy anything special. Just another Kakuno... For the record, I only have two right now, both are <F>. I could use a <M>.
