Idk. Php has incorporated details of yet to be released papers in the past, so maybe it's that. But I really struggle to think of how you'd even go about finding proof for slitted pupils compelling enough to stand against the eyes of literally every single extant Varanid.

For a paleodoc with such a big budget that prides itself on sticking to the most modern science it's super disappointing to see them just stick almost cartoonish slitted pupils on such a well known, iconic species when literally every single one of their 50+ living relatives have round pupils.

*Correction, Cetabase has 142 dead cetaceans at MSQ, not 141. They just don't have Hugo in their "Phin'ventory" database for some reason, even though they do have Toki there.
Still massively underselling it, but at least it isn't less than 2/3rds of the actual number.

Screaming in the comment section of social media posts by Australia Zoo demanding they take Old Faithful back to Rinyirru and release him is not helping anyone. All it does is make you feel good for a minute, so you can pat yourself on the back for "helping" before you go on with your day.

If you're angry, fight to change the Queensland Government's crocodile management program. Fight for better rules punishments for interacting with wild crocs. Fight for the abolition of or stricter management of crocodile farms. Fight for Aboriginal Australians to have power within our governments.

Obviously I don't WANT to see these animals euthanised. But I'd rather that than see them be left to rot in limbo for months or years, just so the governments who spent all that time refusing to make a decision can wash their hands of it and say "oh well, we tried!" when they eventually do die.
