Well, I mean in terms of motivation and objetives (in these aspects, Matt Mullenweg is like Red Hat to me). In terms of "style", though, he actually resembles that person, yeah, you are right (I just saw your post with that awful screenshot from Xwitter).

What Matt Mullenweg is doing is awful, but I wouldn't do a parallel to Xwitter, since, in my opinion, it actually resembles what Red Hat did a while ago. How open source communities and profit-seeking enterprises can coexist is unfortunately more uncertain after episodes like these.
