Some bread, baked the other day. Mixture of British 'granary' flour and Canadian white flour. A little bit of Barley Malt extract added. Baked in a tin with a lid and with a single incision made in the top of the loaf. Sponge preferment for a very long period this time: about twenty hours.

A watercolour sketch in fading light is one of the more palpably mad things you can do as far as painting is concerned, as the colours shift quickly and you have to work at something like that pace. This is Wenlock Edge a few evenings ago. Pen and watercolour on cartridge paper; took a few minutes.
