Fabulous walk today straight from the house. Knackered! Lost all my fitness over the autumn travelling with work and the obligatory autumn heavy cold.... Thank god it was mostly downhill after the peak where the panoramic photos were taken!

We had a "kind of white Christmas" in our bit of Switzerland, I think it's the first since we have been here. It didn't snow but the snow that fell a couple of weeks ago persisted and the last few days it's been foggy and freezing all day. The place has transformed into a magical winter wonderland!

Yesterday morning, a colleague (Phil Willmott) took this photo of the SLS @psich.bsky.social. But instead of pending warning, by yesterday evening some great progress was made on the SLS 2.0 upgrade and the progress of the beam towards the upgraded storage ring 🤐. Great work by all involved! 2025 🥳

After a week in Atlanta #SC24, it's back to Switzerland and @psich.bsky.social tomorrow with great new insights. The weather was warm, but the welcome in the Georgia Aquarium was warmest, "Croeso" a diolch! 🏴🇺🇸🇨🇭
