public relations pro who is definitely judging other pr pros | former big agency staffer, now at a small firm | occasionally will give unsolicited political comms counsel
ngl last few weeks have been tough. in between client crises, global crises and personal obligations, it’s been overwhelming

at the same time, PR resilience is real… it takes a lot to reach a breaking point. or maybe we’re just better at compartmentalizing, idk

i am supposed to be enjoying this friday before a holiday weekend, but i have to fix junior staffer misses and mistakes. when did they get so bad at even simple things like coverage reports??
May 23, 2025 at 2:21 PM
me: *puts the interview date in the briefing doc, the email cover note and over slack*

client: so when’s the interview?
May 2, 2025 at 4:24 PM
i don’t have patience for incompetent people. that includes clients

ask your interns to say “reuters” if you want a good laugh
April 22, 2025 at 6:18 PM
i have a client whose job is literally media relations for a rather large company. they did not know the difference between a reporter and an opinion writer. i’m going to cry now
April 17, 2025 at 2:33 PM
liking a linkedin post countering a client belief in the hopes that a client will see it and come to their senses
April 8, 2025 at 5:49 PM
junior PR people: yes, i can tell immediately that something you “wrote” was from chatgpt
April 8, 2025 at 3:45 PM
i think "small biz going out of biz" stories will be more compelling than "your groceries will cost more" stories in helping people turn against t*ump
April 5, 2025 at 2:56 PM
RFPs feel poorly written these days and i’m fairly certain it’s because people are using chatgpt to write them
April 4, 2025 at 7:51 PM
it’s end of week. i really have to lock in and start that deliverable due end of week
April 4, 2025 at 1:28 PM
told a white lie to a client but before she could call me out on my bs, another client jumped in to back me up lol
April 3, 2025 at 3:11 PM
we haven’t gotten any hits for a couple of clients this month (mainly because they do not have newsworthy stories) but we usually at least get feedback from friendlies. but just crickets recently

is it the news cycle or something else?
March 25, 2025 at 1:44 PM
for the second time ever in my career, i cried because of a client interaction

working in PR means you have thick skin, but something about that interaction (and maybe everything else going on in the world) broke me down

oh well. onward to tomorrow!

you have to be a little neurotic to work at a PR agency. no wonder i’m still working at one

democrats should push a safety/security message given:

planes crashing, bird flu/measles spreading, military/police resources being diverted away from actual crime prevention/response, less forecasters leading to untimely weather alerts, cuts to medicaid leading to more illness, data security, etc.
March 10, 2025 at 5:14 PM
junior pr folks: it takes 10 extra seconds to make sure that the journalist info on cision/muckrack is correct!
March 10, 2025 at 4:42 PM
the one PR pro who voted for 🤡:
March 6, 2025 at 6:38 PM
clients really need to tell their pr agencies what they want. we are not fucking mindreaders!
February 26, 2025 at 8:37 PM
i didn’t find the new hire’s linkedin, but did find her wedding website, so there’s that
February 24, 2025 at 3:56 PM
marketing people should not be dictating what pr does
February 20, 2025 at 2:46 PM
journalism 101 and/or working in at least a college paper newsroom should be a prerequisite to get a PR degree
February 18, 2025 at 8:13 PM
if today’s a holiday even for many news orgs, then why are we still working?
February 17, 2025 at 3:34 PM
pr people need to get louder about protecting the free press. our profession literally relies on journalists
February 14, 2025 at 5:16 PM
no way a one line pitch would work with the convoluted client stories we pitch lmao
