I feel like I'm going insane having to remind people that we pay for these services with our tax dollars. They are funded by us and exist to serve us. Making services for profit only degrades quality of service and increases rates. Get the profit motive away from our essential government services!!

People overestimate the presence of "the black market" and the ease of access of it. There are so many gun owners that wouldn't be if the only way to procure was through illegal means. It's so disingenuous to claim regulation would have no effect on gun violence and suicide

Exactly! With automatic weapons available he would have used them. Every anti reform nut talking point is debunked by looking at any other country with sensible gun laws. After buybacks in Australia suicide rates dropped by the amount of firearm suicides the year before.

There was no main stream media narrative implying at the time that this was the inevitable conclusion to our foreign policy. I would have definitely remembered if the media had examined this even with a mild understanding of the actions and reactions that eventually distilled into tragedy.

The US being the judge of what terrorism is would make sense if they recognized that our military apparatus has been the largest(most well funded) terrorist outfit the world has ever known(takes one to make one property). All in the name of making a handful of people impossibly wealthy.

That's the complete opposite of my experience. Even the most left of center major media news figures were 20 toes down frothing at the mouth islamaphobes demanding blood. Immediately. It was unsettling disturbing and illuminating.
