I've had to rewrite ENTIRE systems so that we'd be able to easily modify all of the original systems. I didn't only 'just remove network dependencies'. You wouldn't understand how difficult it has been to do all of this- especially in such a short timespan.

I have spent 5 months understanding and reworking the entire codebase to allow us to easily add in ENTIRELY new content: Characters, Buddies, Abilities, Mechanics, Stages, Layouts, and more.

Like idk how else we can make a post specifically about Desert Ruins using some of SRA's Desert Ruins layouts any easier to understand.
It's almost like this post was made to hint at the fact we're updating the >ALL< event stages so they're not just copy & pasted like the OG game?

It amazes me how you see 2 chunks out of 50 and immediately assume there's going to be 0 original chunks. Wow lol

This post is specifically to show "Hey, we've been editing the layouts for older event stages".
How dare we decide to add some of the layouts from SRA's Desert Ruins to Desert Ruins???

- Most tools complete now so dev time speed up now
- literally first team to add a new gameplay mechanic and integrate it into every system in the codebase in 10 years
- many other mechanics to come too now that everything cracked open

TLDR:
- v1.0 = priority for artists, future stuff sprinkled in bc easy to add
- Videos already confirmed new stages, buddies, abilities, and now wisps
- Programmer focus has been on Runners' encryption and making tools/systems for us to change literally everything (level creator, data tools, etc.)

It's funny how you ignore the fact we've shown:
- Confirmation & videos of new stages
- Confirmation & videos of new buddies and abilities
- And now confirmation of new Wisps

Not to mention there's going to be much more to this than what we've been showing so far that will be in v1.0.

It's also taken time to properly decrypt how Runners handles a lot of its gameplay to allow for new levels, layouts, mechanics; hence why we're only now starting to showcase some of them.

Those with experience decompiling Runners and working on Runners Revival know how difficult this is.

Release version v1.0 + some future content is being worked on at the same time by multiple programmers & artists.
v1.0 content is being prioritized with some future stuff being sprinkled in by some artists / devs during their free time.

3. The initial roster will only include a fraction of the characters/skins/content for this. Some of them will be arriving later as well as a lot of additional content + events that are already in the works.

2. We've already promised new gameplay mechanics, buddies, stages, events, and more. Those things take more time to fully implement and we'd prefer to wait until they're 100% ready to be shown to the public.

1. Character stats + bonuses are being reworked to encourage collecting them all as well as making sure they're not 'worthless'.
