I just made sure I downloaded all my kindle books to my kindle. Can they still take them away? Also, if I leave it on airplane mode, does this stop them? (Not a very technical person here)

I always take something small or lots of stockinette. I have travelled with sweaters to knit on, shawls, hats and socks.
