Alt-Democrats (NOT the Democratic Party)
@altdemocraticparty.bsky.social
We’re Democrats who are tired of crickets from national “leadership” when mobilization is needed. Follow us, we’ll follow back—let’s fight to win together.

All power to the people. We are strongest as a team. Sí, se puede. #landback #blm

Federal employees, unions are advising not to respond to the “what did you do last week” email.

Everyone else—not saying you should necessarily email HR@opm.gov with your accomplishments to put up on the fridge, but if you felt so inclined, consider a temporary email like tempmail.altmails.com

Don’t worry, Jill Stein is out there right now making sure this doesn’t happen—what’s that? She’s on twitter posting about a webinar designed to elevate the speakers rather than the immigrant justice groups actually fighting ICE?

What. A. Surprise.

Thank you to the EEOC administrative law judge who sent a reply-all email calling out collaboration. Federal employees swear oaths to the Constitution—not the President. Federal employees serve We, the People.

As @altnps.bsky.social has stated, we support you. Stay brave, stay strong. We love you

We love you, National Parks Service. Thank you for not obeying in advance.

“Doesn’t like it” is an understatement. The program ended the white supremacist institution he and his family hold so dear. Begging literally a single journalist to report on how Musk, Thiel, and Sacks might blame the USA for this and how that might provide a motive to destroy the country.

Remind your senators you expect them to vote no because yes votes collaborate with fascism. Tell them if they need additional pointers on how to do their jobs, copy the GOP’s homework on destroying the Affordable Care Act. Tell them to check their email for once because you’re sending them the memo

Did you know you can check to see how your senator voted on cabinet confirmations without waiting for the news report? Look who voted to confirm Bessent to treasury and made it possible for Elon to play God with taxpayer money.

They ought to hear from you.

It’s Friday and you know what that means: it’s the last day of “oh god, what now” before more “oh god, what now,” but on the weekend.

You’re right, that’s not very comforting, but hey, shit is fucked and we are still showing up to try to unfuck it, so let’s take comfort in that, eh?

An earlier quote of @oldenoughtosay.bsky.social’s post (pictured) could be interpreted as judgmental and snarky. That was the result of haste (and enthusiasm) and was unintentional. We deleted it to keep our messaging coherent.

We’re sorry and promise to be more deliberate/thoughtful going forward.

If you want to give more detail, here’s why we’re asking our senators to vote no on RFK Jr for HHS:

He’s an anti-vaxxer whose policies will harm and kill us. His fearmongering in Samoa has already caused kids to die preventable deaths of measles. Check the graphic below for additional points.

We’re sex-positive here at Alt-Dems, so we don’t usually kink-shame.

That said, if you’re subjecting the public to your predilections, we absolutely reserve the right to not only kink-shame, but also ask if you’re okay. No, really, are you, like, seeing anyone for the trauma that made you this way?

We know what this is: a lie.

The truth: Project 2025 seeks to end the Medicaid program. The first step is the “pause” in federal grants funding Medicaid. The portal was offline because the GOP *wanted* it to be.

It’s online again because WE made elected officials listen. WE did this.

Together.

We also know the news is overwhelming right now. That’s the Republican Party/Heritage Foundation flooding the zone to paralyze everyone with fear so we will freeze up—as intended. The antidote is action. Pick one thing to focus on today and do it. Here are some ideas to get you started 3/🧵

Bipartisanship with Nazis is bad, actually. Know why?

I’ll give you a hint: what do you call a person who collaborates with a Nazi?

A Nazi.
January 28, 2025 at 4:26 AM
@schumer.senate.gov says Donald Trump and his administration are dangerous. We agree. So why are Dem leaders talking about bipartisanship with an existential threat? America doesn’t compromise with fascists, lads.

The Republican Party has declared war on NIH for following the science on Covid and they don’t care who dies of cancer in the process. Call your reps or text @resist.bot at 50409 to send a fax. Tell them to protect our health. Contact link in thread, below.
