He was hoping Thune could hold it up in the Senate but Schumer ficked that up by forcing the unanimous consent vote almost immediately. No Republican senator, especially those going into midterm elections next year, wanted their votes to be recorded as no.

Oh I agree with you wholeheartedly. I trust her about as as far as I can throw her. But paths to redemptions have to start somewhere. Also it'll be entirely hilarious if we get a reverse horseshoe on this and she goes from far right to far left.
