Ending the night with some classics

Spotted an I-PAC in the pink, circuitboard-studded bathroom

One thing I need to implement in the tournament is an “untangle round”

In all my years of showing the Octopad I’ve never seen so many wells formed in the middle of the field (vs on the right or left). NY style multiplayer Tetris?
November 8, 2025 at 10:18 PM
Some cozy 4v4s taking place in classic Tetris! We’re using Eric Anderson’s TAUS to excavate Nintendo’s unfinished two-player mode: github.com/ejona86/taus

We’re in the cabana near the bar—gonna start with some chill single player games before breaking out Player 2!
November 8, 2025 at 7:56 PM
Ding ding ding! We are now here at @wonderville.nyc for the third and final session of the OCTOPAD OPEN!

They did it in a vs match!!
November 8, 2025 at 3:57 AM
They got 74…the 100 line record still alludes us… 🚀
November 8, 2025 at 3:23 AM
Ok, we’re getting down to business now. A team is trying to beat the OCTOPAD all time high score of 93 lines. From 2018-2025, no team has done better. Music set to “off.”
November 8, 2025 at 3:00 AM
There’s also been a bunch of silent playthroughs—teams practicing mind melding—and a team that has fired their DOWN player
November 8, 2025 at 2:29 AM
People have also started figuring out SELECT (P1 hides/unhides both next shapes, P2 hides/unhides just their own)
November 8, 2025 at 2:20 AM
Some strategies evolving that I didn’t expect like building the well in the center!
November 8, 2025 at 2:18 AM
And we’re off! After a few rounds of Urban Champion we’ve settled into Tetris
November 8, 2025 at 2:11 AM
We changed the table cloth from green to pink and I think it was a good decision 🌸
November 7, 2025 at 11:47 PM
Another great setup tonight—candle lit wire spaghetti 🍝
November 7, 2025 at 11:36 PM
It’s that time again! We’re at @boshis.place for the second night of the OCTOPAD OPEN where we’re trying out the HEXADECIPAD & looking for teams to compete at No Quarter on 11/22!

Wanna join us? Head over to 1002 Metropolitan Ave and follow the instructions on the door! We’re playing from 7-11PM!
November 7, 2025 at 11:30 PM
Tomorrow the project will be at Boshi’s Place from 7-11pm—can’t wait to play again!
November 7, 2025 at 1:48 AM
…and of course we ended with TMNT: Tournament Fighters! Love that I’m finding out about this particular title through this project. It was released for the NES in 1994!
November 7, 2025 at 1:41 AM
At the end of the night we tried some other games starting with Baloon Fight (very Killer Queen adjacent with the big teams)…
November 7, 2025 at 1:39 AM
Loved seeing some teams form organically after playing the Hexadecipad—hoping that some will register for the tournament at No Quarter!
November 7, 2025 at 1:38 AM
Yesssss, I’ve been hoping for some of these funny situations re: scoring—here the Player 2 team topped out a teo minutes earlier but won via their higher rate of tetrising!
November 6, 2025 at 11:38 PM
Alright, there’s already some diverging strategies going on given folks are looking to high score…
