The pieces that fit into Sunstreaker's shoulders were also originally meant to be Sideswipe's piledrivers. Also, Sunstreaker's bio makes mention of shoulder-mounted missiles - and Sideswipe is the one with the shoulder-mounted missile launcher.

I'm loving these critical looks backwards at "established" theropods recently: Tameryraptor was an unexpected treat and now even hoary old Megalosaurus.

I always found it interesting to compare Sal's art to John's, and spot the similarities and differences in their style. Each is definitely his own artist, but the connections are visible. So many great moments of my youth illustrated by these guys. Happy birthday Sal.
