I run indieguru.io and write about videogames. Not Pulitzer Prize stuff, just honest news and opinion.
At first I was like, "Oh, Doom: The Dark Ages is 50% off!" and then I was like, "but it's still thirty-five quid."

How have we become so used to cheap games that even a reasonable price for a AAA title feels like its too much to pay.

Indie is where it's at, right?

I've had a very productive Saturday and edited audio AND video for the next two episodes of the Grumpy Old Gamer podcast. Feels nice to know that's done for the rest of the month.

School run time is both the best time and the worst time.

Yes, Disney+, yes it is often too early for Christmas. Especially the 3rd of November. Get in the sea.

Still can't get my head around why Firaxis looked at Amplitude's failed Humankind and said, "we should do that too." Great to see they have finally seen the error and are taking steps to fix it. Playing as one civ and one leader *is* Civ.

...and I like games!

I've started a new venture. It's called IndieGuru and it's my attempt to start a business and be my own boss doing the two things I love.

Building communities.
Playing (and writing about) videogames.
