Hi, I’m Scott.
Male, 51yo, Brisbane Australia.
Just trying to do the best I can.
Independent artist of prints and comics.
Lover of food, music, movies and comics.
Great mail week! Received these beautiful books by @decassette.bsky.social on Tuesday. Haven’t read any of them yet, because my TBR pile is big but I have flicked through them, and they’re exquisite. Even if I never actually read them, I know I’ll return to them often, just to drink in their beauty.

Rewatched Predator Badlands this morning, A) because it’s a kick-ass film and it’s worth watching again. And B), because I wanted to try get shot of Bud so I could do better fan art. Unfortunately the person in front of me’s head got in the way, so I couldn’t really manage. Might have to try again.

Saw Sisu Road to Revenge this morning. I like it, but I think it’s missing a little something amongst the admittedly fun mayhem, and that’s an actual character. And don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy the mayhem, but I also think the film could be elevated a little more if there was more of a character

Saw Wicked For Good last night. It’s an okay film. I really enjoy the political themes, and the story of friendship, but it’s a crap musical with no songs I actually enjoy. Still think Cynthia Erivo is great. Flying monkeys also still great.

Sorting books for re-shelving. Do I put this with art books, comics, or start a picture book section?

Wondering if I should have a cat-eared character in my Post Apocalyptic Skate Squad comic 🤔 People like that, don’t they?

And this one. I remember the mangaka in Manben who did the bike racing comic, had those thicker lines in his comic, the bands of thick and thin lines acting as distance as well as motion cues.

Posting this as a reminder to try this technique to suggest motion. #comics #comicsky

Unfortunately you can’t buy tickets yet, but good news, Sonic 4 is scheduled for release in March 2027. I for one can’t wait!

Dear Film Nerds, if it comes to the end of the year and your compiling your Top 10 of 2025, and you haven’t seen Nobody (浪浪妖怪), your list is incomplete and not worth any consideration. I’m trying to do you a favour here, don’t sleep on it. See it so you can be one of the cool kids who actually knows

I’m working on this comic because I’m procrastinating on two other ones due to wanting to get some more reference photos, and it’s really flowing, but I don’t know if I’m writing for mini-comic or Zine size, as in A6 or A5. A6 I only want about 3 panels on a page, A5 I can go up to 6. Sigh.

Just saw Comrades: Almost A Love Story (甜蜜蜜), and man, Maggie Cheung can kill you with her eyes. I don’t mean in a murderous way, I mean with a look of love, a look of longing, a look of sorrow. I don’t think I particularly enjoyed it, makes me feel things I don’t want to feel, but hat tip to Maggie

Haven’t done much today, but happy with what I’ve got, even if it’s just one panel. #WIP #PostApocalypticSkateSquad #alphallamallama

If this is showing near you, I highly recommend it. Solidly entertaining throughout, absolutely beautiful art on display, you get to feel all the feels. If you’re like me, you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll want to see it again. Will probably make my Top 10 for the year.

I hope I captured it. Hopefully you recognise it, if you’ve seen the movie.

You can all keep your GDT Frankenstein, I’ll go with this little guy instead.
