One thing I have learned, to my sorrow, is how many people are involved in these scams not out of malice, but fear and exploitation. They’re recovering from poverty, addiction, etc. and the embrace values that are then used against them. What a damned mess, and for no good at all.

The Labubu pile stirs. A man in a Labubu suit emerges, wearing a gas mask, clutching an ad-hoc AK-47 flamethrower combo.
He doesn’t live. He only survives.

The primary result of this poll is “Number of Americans learning what immigration is now that they’re being forced to understand”.

Wired, I really like the journalism we’ve been seeing from you. I’m honestly a fan now. Great work.

It’s not renaming. It’s re-branding. See how one is less scary?

Senator Harry Truman strode into the Capitol on December 8th, 1941, and noted that the isolationist members of the house looked stricken. He despised them for their short-sightedness, narrow-mindedness, injustice, and most of all, their cowardice.

As soon as the war broke out, the US should have sent every Copperhead round to Ukraine. We don’t need it and don’t use it.

That’s a 7-second flash to boom, putting that blast at about 1.5 miles from the viewer. That. Is. Big.

It’s not impossible that the passenger was already shirtless, given the staggering incompetence and unprofessionalism of the Russians, buts it’s also quite likely that the rocket blasted the clothes off of his body. Staggering.
What a way to die.

As an artilleryman, it feels soooooo good to watch unstable ammunition ignite from an external disruption and then blow right through the dang cab, cooking the whole truck in the process. Just lovely.

When our family was fleeing Estonia and Latvia at the end of the war, the distance you could travel through Russian-controlled territory was measured in the amount of vodka you could bribe guards with. You could measure travel in miles-per-liter.

I am terribly certain that very soon, a pair of masked “ICE” will get into a gunfight in a parking lot in Missouri or some such. They’ll turn out to be vigilantes. There will be rash judgements and claims of “deputation” and then, violent chaos across the country.

People need to remember that “The shooting has stopped” and “Peace” are NOT necessarily the same thing.

The current Iranian regime made a grave error in basing its identity on the annihilation of Israel. If it cannot perform this core task, it cannot continue to exist, nor can it collaborate with neighbors in a dynamic world. I hope a moderate and pluralist regime can usher in a new future, soon.

In artillery vernacular, a system like this is a target that you divert all fires assets toward until it’s destroyed. These sensors are that important.
