Trump was his friend, but even Epstein didn't realize how deep he was with the Russians.

I think I figured it out.

Marjorie Taylor Greene MTG has seen or knows what’s in the Epstein files. She is trying to distance herself from it. She wants to survive the GOP fallout.

I love this cover much better. I assume you are sharing the paperback cover. Why did they have to change it? Disappointed.

My latest acquisition, book 1793

The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins

Stumbled into a reddit thread about absurd numbers of narrative twists in a single book and this one came up. Had to fetch a hardcover right away.

A lot of fun so far, shhhh, no spoilers, I am not done yet. :)

The Staircase in the Woods by Chuck Wendig

After my experience with Blackbirds, I noticed his most recent novel about a literal staircase in the woods and an It-like group of friends. Wendig sure knows how to set the hook. Love forests and mysterious staircases.

Blackbirds by Chuck Wendig

Stumbled upon this by reading a summery of the premise - a woman who can see the moment of a person's death by touch. What a hook.

Enjoyable to read, though her obsession with word-choice while claiming to not be a writer is cumbersome - unreliable narrator?

This one I am in the middle of reading delightfully.

Waterblack by Alex Pheby

Book 3 of Cities of the Weft

I absolutely fell in love with this series after seeing the cover to Mordew (book 1) in the bookstore. Writing blew me away. Proper fantasy literature that will challenge you.

I've had this one in my library for some time, but forgot to add it formally.

My Name is Shingo, Vol 1 by Kazuo Umezz

Love his horror manga, the Drifting Classroom being a particular delight. That one being about alternate dimensions/futures and this one being about robots/AI.

Recent addition to the library

The Care of Strangers by Charles E. Rosenberg

Companion to No Man's Land. This time focused on the history of the American hospital system.

If you want to know the purpose of something always look towards history for answers. Compare it to what we do now.

No Man's Land by Wendy Moore

Love histories of all kinds, especially on specialized topics. Delving into the history of healthcare, especially hospitals. This one about the all-female hospital during WWI.

Women are incredible and never get enough credit.

Recent addition to my library

A Reenchanted World by James William Gibson

I am fascinated by the relationship between humanity and nature, obviously a toxic relationship for the past 10,000+ years. It permeates our culture throughout time. Civilization's original and ongoing sin.

My 161st Library of America(LoA) book is #365 in the collection:

John Updike, Novels 1996-2000

This completes my collection of Updike's novels at its 5th volume. That leaves his two collections of stories which were published much earlier in 2013.

Filed them under PS3571.P4 A6 in LCC

I am glad you had fun. It was at my expense this time. Perhaps now we are even. I do wonder, though, if the hate towards Snyder and Man of Steel is too personal and way overblown. I am not saying this is not my Superman. There are infinite interpretations. I don't like Gunn filmmaking, it's garish.
