There’s also a deliberate disinformation ad campaign from PragerU going around YouTube that deliberately tries gaslight viewers over the meaning of “liberal”. I worry how many younger or less politically literate people are falling for it. Their horseshit needs deliberate counter-campaigns.

“Vote D to return to a politics focused on practical improvements to people’s lives, not one focused on using the power of government to just bully and immiserate people.”

This is pretty damning. Dems can flat out say “Look, we don’t think this should be dominating conversation either, but we keep having to defend people’s basic liberties because Rs are so obsessed with LGBT that they’re going far beyond sports and are just harassing and invading peoples lives.”

Really really hope fewer and fewer sitting Dems and candidates are taking Third Way stuff at face value, and are instead trying out better strategies.

People keep saying “Biden did this” but I think are missing the key of really being a presence on the ground and really letting people know who it is that’s doing the work. Media misinfo is harder when people have actually met and seen concrete action from someone in person. Thinking of Abughazaleh

Why are all these fucking psychopaths so obsessed with other people just living their own lives around them? Holy shit, how do people find the energy to walk around this fucking angry all the time? And they want the rest of society to think this way? What a MISERABLE mindset to constantly have.

The wars they’re trying to wage over access to oil will literally be more expensive than just fucking investing in green energy. Not to mention war destabilizes regions and causes MORE emigration as people flee for survival. It’s hard to find an adjective that captures both the sadism AND stupidity

Agreed. YouTube hid a comment I made in response to someone saying something like “democracy is dying/weak”
In the end, regular people refusing to be silent or intimidated have more balls than the cosplay commandos cheering for armed, armored forces to beat civilians who trigger them w/mean words.

The way they care so much about projecting the *image* of what they view as masculine, makes them the most performative males on the planet. The fact that so many of them enthusiastically put *themselves* in a hierarchy deferential to men they view as richer or more powerful, makes them subby af too

Thank you for continuing to speak up on this. I want to share this thread and the 2 articles in it. The ethnonationalistic & eugenist rhetoric coming from GOP leaders lately is deeply worrying AND deeply un-American, and we should say it often and in no uncertain terms.

16. Will added: “Sure, I want the next president to care about affordable healthcare and lowering egg prices, but America also needs leaders who will celebrate and defend our fundamental human right simply to be different.”

Which worries me because the MAGA movement and GOP he’d face in Congress will try to influence people like him, and we need people strongly opposed enough to not be convinced over time. If he’s serious on his principles, he won’t let this stop him from trying local govt and building a track record.

My concern is that those posts, plus the way he wants to so quickly be forgiven for them, feels to me like he hasn’t done enough reflection to really internalize how and why those statements were wrong.

The white supremacists that are cultivating MAGA, WILL try to infiltrate the democratic party and the entire spectrum of the left too, and we will have to constantly rebuff them. The people who are still trying so hard to excuse Platner are the ones who don’t pass the smell test.

I had the disappointing realization this year that fascists watch movies like Captain America 2 or War for the Planet of the Apes and relate more to characters/ideas like Hydra or The Colonel than to the protagonists.

With the voting Rights Act under threat, multiple scandals of deranged, violent, white-supremacist group chats among Republicans, and now ambassador nominees being unwilling to commit to the opinion that black people should be allowed to vote, Democrats NEED to be talking about social issues.

Starting to look like a good time for MSNBC to snatch up a bunch of good journalists and end up with a kickass roster.

There is no emergency the American people will accept as a reason to give up our longstanding values of democracy and liberty. If someone was threatening these core American values, why would Americans let them win by backing down? We have never, and will never be intimidated in such a way.

If there was an emergency trying to threaten our democracy, that should only make us double down on participating in democracy and exercising our duty to vote. This is something every individual should say early and often.Esp politicians, journalists, any1 who can reach an audience. Say it loud&often
