an on-time #wipwednesday! miraculous! have a little bit about hyukjae's mutation. :) (think emma frost but moonstone)
he finally manages on his third try, and it's all donghae can do not to gasp. because hyukjae's mutation is <em>beautiful</em>. it's disconcerting at first to watch his skin almost ripple away as it turns to milky blue stone, but then it's breathtaking. hyukjae sits on donghae's bed like a statue made entirely of a shimmery, pearlescent gemstone that donghae doesn't know the name of, and he's beautiful. donghae can see the inside of hyukjae's mouth when he speaks, and the stone is everywhere; it's not merely a lacquer. his eyes are stone, his hair is stone, his nails, his teeth, his... everything. donghae reaches out without thinking, brushing two fingertips over the smoothness of hyukjae's inner wrist. he pauses his finger where hyukjae's heartbeat ought to be and waits, and waits, and feels... nothing. there's no pulse.

"if you say... so..." hyukjae's voice trails off as they get to the lobby and look out the glass doors of the multiplex, at the rain angrily pelting the pavement. "was it supposed to rain tonight? did you drag me out of my bed <em>knowing</em> it'd rain?" and there's really no way to answer that without pissing hyukjae off, so donghae grimaces and goes for the truth: "i didn't mean for it to come down this hard." "then you—" "it was me, yeah," donghae says, and braces himself.

oh i totally forgot i had a #wipwednesday to post. uhhh here's........ fipfriday instead? an x-men/mutants au but they're still suju/idols!
so he reaches, and the sky is right there, brushing against the folds in his brain and grazing his lashes. the clouds kiss his nails, cold against the edges of his mind, and he lingers there for a moment before he drifts deeper, into the molecules he doesn't think he could name even if he'd paid attention in his high school chemistry classes. he expands and compresses and expands again. the sweet harshness of ozone and precipitation coat his tongue. it's not supposed to rain today. the clouds will linger a little, then move out, gathering more precipitation as they go. by tomorrow, it will be cold enough for the precipitation to turn to snow as it falls through the atmosphere. it's not supposed to rain. donghae breathes in. hyukjae and ryeowook are warm against his sides, and the sky is cold against the insides of his eyelids.

oh, i forgot to put last week's wipwed in this thread. well! here's two weeks' worth. this fic is now about 10k and will hopefully go up over the weekend!
they end up drinking kyuhyun's fancy wine after all. "these're the wrong cups," kibum complains for the millionth time since they popped the cork, holding his coffee mug up to the light. "you have the right glasses. i saw them. why're we using these?" "because," hyukjae says, and pulls his knees up to his chest, cradling the mug between both hands. "i feel like it. and it's my apartment. and i'm sad." "it's the dorm," kibum says. "i saw omnipotent interviewing—no. that's not it. but you know what i mean. it's kyuhyun-hyung's apartment more than it's yours." he pauses to take a dainty sip of wine. "why're you sad? you said you weren't. be angry!" "why should i be angry about love?" hyukjae says a little morosely. "good for them." hyukjae falls in love with lee donghae over the course of almost a decade. he gives up on him over the course of a single conversation.

"i'm tired of talking about him," kibum says half an hour later, drunk enough not to realize that he's spent a grand total of five minutes talking about his ex-boyfriend. hyukjae, who is rather more sober, hides a smile behind his glass. "let's talk about something different." "okay," hyukjae says easily. "fine. let's talk about—" "what about you?" kibum interrupts. "what about your love life? who're you dating these days? you can tell me if it's a woman, i'll still accept your choices." hyukjae chokes on a laugh. "you'll still—okay? thank you. but it's not... there's no one. i'm not dating anyone." kibum gives him a mildly annoyed look, as though hyukjae's singleness is an affront to him personally. "no one? nobody at all? *why?*"
