Yep, you may well be right. Supported Leeds since 1972 and I still suspect I may be living in an episode of Twilight Zone. Or Tales of the I Should Have Expected…

If that new manager a) lasts a few years and b) gets this shower to Europe, he’ll walk into any job no matter what the new owners do. I really don’t think that will be the main obstacle to taking the Leeds job…

And you’re entitled to keep spouting the nonsense.

That’s nonsense and you know it. But let’s try it.

And we’re well below average. In a 20 team league average is 10th or 11th. I’d love us to be average. Don’t you think a more astute coach could get a better result?
November 23, 2025 at 4:59 PM
We have good players but we have a conservative, reactive coach with no in-game tactical ability.
November 23, 2025 at 4:52 PM
I’m not even sure it’s that he doesn’t improve them; he doesn’t use them properly. But you’re right, we are averaging 2 goals against, no matter who is in goal or at centre half. In another timeline, Marcelo made it to the end of the season and had the Raphinha/Kalvin money to spend. Imagine…

I can’t see how they weren’t. The fans were singing “make a sub” on 60 minutes. Farke has no in game management ability. That’s what frustrates the fans.
November 23, 2025 at 4:40 PM
When Plan A didn’t work for Bielsa, we did Plan A better. Farke does Plan A the same. Yes, like Bielsa, he has been let down by recruitment but he has quality players he doesn’t use until it’s too late. We lose too often playing pretty well…

I like Farke. Despite the Aaronson blindness, he knows how to set up a team, but he has no idea how to change one. It’s unforgivable and it’s not going to change.
November 23, 2025 at 4:08 PM
Is he going to explain to the rest of us? Tanaka has been excellent. Aaronson has been Aaronson…

It’s incredibly powerful. As much as I love Blunstone’s vocals, it’s this song which always gets me.

‘The Butcher’s Tale’ is one of the greatest anti-war songs ever. Beautiful and harrowing. Like a Wilfred Owen poem. Shivers. Every time.

Excellent article Chris and it was truly a great day. We drove down too because, although I bought tickets on day one, I didn’t reckon on every train from Belfast being fully booked. Stayed over to make a night it it though.

We’re never forgotten. It has always amused me that this is sprayed on the embankment wall just before City Hospital. Been there for years…

So who bought the seven they signed…?

While my musical tastes are wide and varied, I am at heart a metalhead but this album and the follow up completely blew me away.

Also, Jon Lord, to my knowledge, never used Fender amps. The Beast was Hammond into Marshalls. Great show though. Purple are my favourite band and really special in my musical history. You’re giving me an excuse to listen to everything again, in order.

Hi Scott. Just found your podcast and I’m wayyy behind. You may well have caught this since but Hey Joe was not a Hendrix original either but a cover and, for me, it follows the blues tradition of Staggerlee and the like; it’s reportage, the narrator makes no judgement, and I like that.

Wait. Gnonto is pronounced Metcha? I wasted so much money on Italian lessons…🙃
