We have good players but we have a conservative, reactive coach with no in-game tactical ability.

I’m not even sure it’s that he doesn’t improve them; he doesn’t use them properly. But you’re right, we are averaging 2 goals against, no matter who is in goal or at centre half. In another timeline, Marcelo made it to the end of the season and had the Raphinha/Kalvin money to spend. Imagine…

I can’t see how they weren’t. The fans were singing “make a sub” on 60 minutes. Farke has no in game management ability. That’s what frustrates the fans.

When Plan A didn’t work for Bielsa, we did Plan A better. Farke does Plan A the same. Yes, like Bielsa, he has been let down by recruitment but he has quality players he doesn’t use until it’s too late. We lose too often playing pretty well…

I like Farke. Despite the Aaronson blindness, he knows how to set up a team, but he has no idea how to change one. It’s unforgivable and it’s not going to change.

Excellent article Chris and it was truly a great day. We drove down too because, although I bought tickets on day one, I didn’t reckon on every train from Belfast being fully booked. Stayed over to make a night it it though.

Also, Jon Lord, to my knowledge, never used Fender amps. The Beast was Hammond into Marshalls. Great show though. Purple are my favourite band and really special in my musical history. You’re giving me an excuse to listen to everything again, in order.

Hi Scott. Just found your podcast and I’m wayyy behind. You may well have caught this since but Hey Joe was not a Hendrix original either but a cover and, for me, it follows the blues tradition of Staggerlee and the like; it’s reportage, the narrator makes no judgement, and I like that.
