As I blocked more and more, I saw less and less of the content I joined FB to engage with in the first place: news and stories from my friends and family. There were times when my entire feed was nothing but dead-internet slop from bot accounts that constantly cannibalize each other.

Nearly two years ago, I made a resolution to block every "suggested for you" page I saw on Facebook. I expected that as highly promoted content was filtered out, I would eventually find fun, wild, and weird content too niche to gain traction.
