Is the plan with DOGE and tariffs to so break the government as to have people pleading to privatize services because they have been fed the lie that competition leads to better outcomes? I don't think all of this destruction is for nothing. It has a reason.

Am I the only one feeling like we are at the edge of an abyss and we are going to fall any second? Because that's the way everything feels right now. I've never felt such instability in my lifetime.

I am in total despair for our country and fear about the future for my kids and, frankly, for me. I will be retiring in 4.5 years (If I am lucky enough not to be laid off in the meantime). Will Social Security be there? If not, I'll be homeless.

If we are going to outlaw potentially regrettable acts, let's start with marriage and bad haircuts.
Kavanaugh also brings up "detransitioners," people who "regret" their decision to transition genders. Like Alito, he cites European countries that are "pulling back" from gender-affirming care for minors, saying it's a "yellow light" or "red light" for the court that Europe is "pumping the brakes."

Do you think that Trump will pardon all the Jan 6 people who were tried in Federal court? He has no jurisdiction over the other courts, does he? Other than political pressure? This is so chilling to me.

Most of Trump's appointments won't stay in place very long. Too many big egos to last together for four years. Musk will not be able to take the slow pace of government. RFK will think he's the smartest one in the room. Trump will ignore them or get bored or annoyed and fire them.
