Agreed. In addition to the factors you cite, we had the Electoral College to thank for her loss (that archaic vestige of our founders' racism). So much needs to change. Even with free and fair elections, it will take generations.

My point is that the progressive view is almost never heard by the undecided voter. All that is heard is relentless hatred and vilification of the left. It takes its toll.

Spot on. Still, Hillary Clinton won the popular vote as a Democrat. Her presidency would have been a good start toward addressing the misogyny inherent in the party and society in general.
