An informational report showed that fewer people are taking advantage of a community electrification program funded by the California Energy Commission after the program’s launch in August 2024. The city is trying to find ways to expand the program and increase uptake before grant money expires.

California Water Service has completed its upgrades to infrastructure in the northeastern area of Portola Valley. Beginning in August 2024, Cal Water has been working on enhancing water supply reliability and fire protection to the Ladera community. The work was done as of Feb. 21.

The Menlo Park city council "reluctantly" voted at its Feb. 25 meeting to pass an ordinance restricting oversized vehicles and RVs from parking overnight on all public streets in the city. The vote was 4-1, with Council member Jeff Schmidt dissenting.
