I started submitting a short story to a couple literary magazines recently. Got my first rejection today. "We're going to pass on this one. It just didn't work for us." Not kind wording lol. Stephen King had a nail for his rejections, maybe I'll get one started too. I'll keep writing and keep trying

Entering week three of bronchitis. Doc says it can last up to eight weeks. I’ve read so many books, which is so nice, but the cabin fever is setting in. The Queen lyric “I want to ride my bicycle” is blasting in my mind at 10x speed but my wheezy lungs are a prison. My Cannondale gathers dust.

As I’ve resumed writing short fiction I’ve noticed that some people just aren’t readers. They’re excited, they encourage me - I’m very grateful for this - But they also balk at the concept of reading. “It’ll be a while before I get to it,” “I can’t make any promises.” Even for very short works.
