Finally got to see a demo of the big football data project that my student son worked on as a developper during a year out in Sweden. It's a GPT-type app that will 'chat' to you about footballers and generate scouting reports. Very cool - even for an AI sceptic who knows nothing about football!

Best Christmas present was this board game bought by my son for all the family. Ticked all the boxes: love of board games (son), love of trains (me) and love of winning (daughter).

User opinions of obligatory bike reservations on regional trains in Occitanie this summer. Unsurprisingly very negative. The obvious sticking point is that 'vélotaffeurs' are forced to make multiple reservations each day (in case of cancellations etc), just to ensure they can get their bike home!

Today I'm making final preps for a long #interrail journey to Sweden - partly for a holiday, partly to help my son move back to France after an amazing Erasmus experience and a year working for a small tech company in Stockholm.

Doing my bit for the local climbing community. That's me in the middle dangling on a static rope with a bucket full of holds between my legs. Not the most dignified position for a woman of my age 🤣.

Obviously it's fundamentally stupid to build a hospital on top of a hill with poor access to public transport, but the Téléo cable car has revolutionised access to Rangueil and Oncopole. And ticketing is integrated with the bus/metro network.
