At the end of November, I had a story idea I’ve been lovingly calling, “chaotic mess”. I abandoned another project to start it. The story would not let me go. Today, I finished the first draft 🎊🎉

Yesterday was the first day this year I didn’t write. My new roommate was moving in, so I took the time to help her and didn’t have the opportunity to sit down. It’s okay to not be perfect, to take time for others, as long as you get back to it (like I will today!)

Mine came from my first bff. I met her when I was three and moved away at 9. When I moved away, I read her favorite book series because it made me feel connected to her.
Her and I would talk on the phone and discuss theories and everything for hours. It was a way to stay close to her.

Where did your live of reading come from?
Mine came from my mom. I hated reading “required” literature in school. I struggled with it keeping my attention. My mom and I would stretch out on her bed and she would take turns with me reading.
My mom is passed, and I cherish the memories.
