My quite conservative (with a small c) Catholic dad read Lady Chatterley’s Lover because it was on a banned list by the RC Church. When we asked why he said “Just to see what all the fuss was about”. He definitely mellowed as he got older.

Banning books in the modern world seemed to be an American phenomenon with the Christian right being the culprits. We Aussies are a bunch of heathens, so can’t think of any books that are banned over here. We also have our fair share of stirrers who push the boundaries.
