Also influenced by the sincerity movement of the 1990s, the American folk music of the 1960s, the musical theater work of Jason Robert Brown, and Bruce Springsteen’s Born To Run album. It has many songs I’ve written in the last couple weeks and also a few I’ve been holding onto for years.

So the album is about rediscovering self, but also about returning to writing music after a long hiatus, and also about existentialism and Buddhism with a splash of Kierkegaard-Christianity. Also addiction, late-stage-capitalism, and German history, with bit of environmentalism and sci-fi tossed in.
