New from me: Inside CISA as Trump prepares to take power.

Employees are worried that he'll end key projects, drive away star talent, and generally weaken the agency's role in protecting the government and the nation from hackers.

I find articles like this exceptionally depressing as they reveal a common confidence in the ability to operate outside of our societal obligations without consequence

What will Trump do with Biden's cyber agenda? Say goodbye to critical infrastructure security regulations, anti-spyware efforts, and AI safety, and say hello to more hacking against China.

Every time there is a another actively exploited net app I think about this excerpt from a 2019 letter from @wyden.senate.gov to Amazon: "it is time to ask whether the underlying technology needs to be made safer, and whether the company that makes it shares responsibility for the breaches.”
Palo Alto Networks has updated their advisory security.paloaltonetworks.com/PAN-SA-2024-... saying they have "observed threat activity exploiting an unauthenticated remote command execution vulnerability against a limited number of firewall management interfaces which are exposed to the Internet."
Palo Alto Networks published an advisory on 2024-10-08 warning of a claim of an RCE via the PAN-OS management interface. While no exploitation activity has yet been observed, we added fingerprinting for exposed PAN-OS mgmt interfaces in ourDevice ID report.

We see around 11K IPs exposed (10th Nov).
