Our Cicero Society has really taken off this year with thanks to the wonderful Mrs Nightingale and a great Year 13 team. Talks have included everything from The Nineteenth Century Oboe, Neuromorphic Systems and Body Hacking and Green Careers to Weaving and Looms, Orientalism, and Book Binding.

A big thank you to our wonderful colleagues who have donated some super books to the library this year :)

H in Year 9 created a fabulous Tri-Muggle Tournament for students in lower library. Teams of students competed against each other in a quiz, play writing competition and a challenge to design a new shop for Diagon Alley :)

R in Year 8 loves Katya Balen's writing so much that she has interviewed her for our student newspaper and donated a set of her books to the library. R says, 'I love our school library so much and I wanted every reader to be able to discover the incredible worlds I have found in books!'

28 students came along to our @yorkbookaward.bsky.social book club to hear the first two chapters of 'The Stitchwort Curse' by @alexandradawe.bsky.social It has sparked some fabulous ideas for their creative prize entries :)

We've been enjoying a chilling read at upper book club today :)

One of the highlights of our year was a visit from the fabulous @redbreastedbird.bsky.social who delighted our students with the background to her stories, tips on solving puzzles and writing techniques. Thank you to her and to @yorkbookaward.bsky.social for bringing magic to our school.
