Today, trial began in a major Voting Rights Act case challenging Texas’s congressional map.

Despite people of color driving 95% of the state’s growth, the map dilutes their power—which is why our affiliate, the NRF, is in court fighting to correct it.

In 2024, Black Alabamians made history by electing two Black members of Congress when they voted on a congressional map that, for the first time ever, was fair. Thanks to the determination and perseverance of these Black voters, this equal and fair representation will remain in place.

A federal court has just confirmed—again—that the VRA requires that Black voters in Alabama must have two congressional districts in the state where they are able to elect candidates of their choice. Proud of our affiliate @redistrictfdn.bsky.social for fighting for fairness from the start.

The SAVE Act would end voter registration as we know it. No more online, mail or voter registration drives.
