That's the upside of these kinds of machines - the convenience outweighs the drawbacks for a lot of people. Glowforge is like that, too. Very convenient but I wouldn't get one

That's why I sold mine and got out of their ecosystem lol

I'd read the ad but my mobile web browsers got a built in as blocker 🤷

Ain't that just the way it always goes. I'm not scared of subscription service though - I'd be more afraid of paywalling previously available services. Already did this song and dance with Cricut back in the day

Looks at my HP printer that not only has an app but literally has a subscription service (٥↼_↼)

I forgot about the Prusa thing - all I've been hearing about is Bambu.

Pretty much all of the libraries around me (in GA - aka America) have equipment like this. 3D printers, recording equipment, Cricut, Arduino/raspberry pi, etc. When my sewing machine broke a while back, I just booked time at the local library and used theirs 🤷

Plus my two Puerto Rican uncles are increasingly conservative, my afro-dominican father and his brainwashed sons, my boss's also Puerto Rican wife...

I mean, my boss is a fellow Puerto Rican who is so full of anti-dem hate and rhetoric that I'm not super willing to throw any one group under the bus.

Technically the majority of Hispanics (over 50% who voted) also voted for Harris this election. I just wish I knew what the other half wanted out of Trump's economics so bad that they voted for the party that thinks my island is floating garbage.
November 26, 2024 at 6:53 PM
Well which Hispanics need to start doing something different? I vote blue and donated to Harris despite being paycheck to paycheck. I argue with my ignorant Trump supporting bosses. I got my mother to start voting for the first time ever. I don't have much more power than that, especially not in GA.

I think there's an idea that all Hispanics are "brown"/POC but that's not the case. Racism, colorism, and civil rights reform are all issues in Central and South America, too. Look at how the Dominican Republic treats Haiti... Most Latinos still vote blue, but I'm not surprised by the red either
November 26, 2024 at 4:17 PM
I don't think the Hispanic red votes are surprising. We are not a monolithic group. We come from Spain, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guatemala, etc (and have biases against Hispanics from certain other countries). Some of us are black, some are white, some are indigenous, some are mixed.

Unfortunately, it's hard not to generalize. I've seen lots of blame this year also put on Hispanic voters and I just know not to take it personally - they don't mean me. We can't answer for the things other people do just because they're our race/ethnicity, but we can recognize that there is a trend
November 25, 2024 at 4:06 PM
As a hispanic GA voter who works out in the country, yeah, white voters wanted him real bad. But we can't just blame them because my Hispanic bosses also wanted him REAL BAD. More Hispanic voter turnout doesn't necessarily mean more blue votes.

In the short term, sure - it'd make it worse because you're basically giving your eyes an intense workout. But really refractive errors are to do with the shape of your eyes and screens don't change that. You just need to take breaks or wear glasses that do the work so your muscles don't have to
