I would never confuse the democrats with an effective political party.

They had 60 votes and still tried to get Republican support. They still tried to make it bipartisan. We do have both sides, but they are not the same.

Dems had 60. Spent the first year of Obama’s presidency and a lot of political capital fighting for the people. Dem’s got crushed in 2010.

Yes, and negotiated away a public option to get republican votes.
..And got zero republican votes.
