"dragon maiden" refers to Ria, one of the characters who serves as handmaiden to a dragon god. the dragon shows up a lot in the book but not in this chapter, haha

Thank you! I'm not opposed to self-publishing, I'd just rather try the traditional avenue first. All the "extras" around self-publishing (marketing, organizing any physical printing, cover design, etc.) really take me away from the writing process.
