Cheering on all the protesters across the country today! I'd be out there with you, but COVID knocked me down this week. With y'all in my thoughts and my coughs. NO KINGS!!!!

One of my latest poems, The Ending, was published by Poetry Catalog today! I normally don’t do rhyming poetry, but the first quatrain appeared spontaneously in my head one day and took up residence there.

'Liminal,' another poem published by @bluevilla.org in 2024. I always thought ‘liminal’ was a beautiful word: “Occupying a position at, or on both sides, of a boundary.” I feel most of my life has been spent in that space. You can find links to my other published works at allisonwaltersluther.com.

Whenever 11 leaves for school in the morning, Percy goes "Bye-bye! Love you!" and will randomly holler for him throughout the day. Love this bird so fucking much!

Charles “Charlie” Paul Hendrix Xavier Luther is 4 today! He loves getting scritches, preening his fave people, doing jump-jumps/tap-tap-taps, pine nuts & watching NatGeo whale documentaries. He speaks 50+ words & phrases & is an absolute joy, unless it’s horny season & he’s trying to fuck your hand.

My poem, "Unleafing", published by Ghost Light Lit. The change from autumn to winter is a magical time: the dying of the year, shifting from one phase of life to another, moving between dreams, when you either survive, or you don’t. You can find the link at allisonwaltersluther.com/published-works

Percy, everyone’s favorite Angry Spite Chicken™️, turned 27 yesterday! He loves pistachios & sweet potatoes & watching the kids play video games. He can tell time (kind of) & loves to chime in on conversations. He is my superhero!

For anyone who needs a laugh today... I went to get Percy, my angry spite chicken, out of his cage this morning. He didn't want to step up, so I said, "I'll come back later," and started to walk away. He called me an asshole. BUT he was ready to step up next time I asked. Asshole.

5 yr ago today, my daughter & I had the pleasure of meeting @elizabethwaren.bsky.social @warren.senate.gov at her rally in Seattle. She was so lovely & fired up. My kid gave her a pin "If you're not angry, you're not paying attention". We had such hope. Very bittersweet.
