They see no value in any process or program that does not put dollars into their pocket. And so they lie, they cheat, they attack, they throw out every moral they claim to hold dear, all in the pursuit of more dollars, because though they have far too many, somehow they can never have enough. 7/

They see only the value of the dollar, an idea with no value but the value we assign to it. And they see the dollar as valuable only when it is in their own pocket. It doesn’t matter if they have more dollars than they, their children, or their children’s children can spend in a lifetime. 6/

Some of them do not even see the value in taking a stand for the document they swore an oath to, or the God they claim to follow, or the family they presumably care about. 5/

And yet there are people who comprehend the value of nothing else. They do not see the value of birdsong on a summer day. They do not see the value of two souls loving each other, or a teen discovering who they are. They do not see the value of a sick child leaving the hospital happy and healthy. 2/
