Here’s one of my earlier pieces. This was so much fun to make! I really loved working on this bird-on-a-branch series. It’s hot-sculpted glass with a steel base and it’s 4” x 4” x 16”. I made it almost 13 years ago! 😮 #art #glass #sculpture #glassart
This solid, transparent, clear glass sculpture features a tall, delicate branch extending almost completely vertical, tapering to a smaller circumference from the base to the top. At the very tip of the branch rests one solid, transparent, frosted, clear glass bird with only the beak and the tail present to suggest the form. The full piece measures 4” x 4” x 16”. It was made in 2012 by artist Alli Luhmann.

Hi, I’m Alli! I’ve been an artist for 17 years, primarily working with glass. But I’d say I’m more of a multidisciplinary artist. Since I’m new to Bluesky, I wanted to say hello and share one of my favorite sculptures. This is a hot-sculpted glass watcher blossom I created in 2018. #art #artist
The image features a handmade glass sculpture made by artist Alli Luhmann. The sculpture itself is a glass flower bloom with a human-like eye at its center. The petals are bright olive green, solid sculpted glass with crinkles, bends, folds, and a matte finish. They bend and curve around the flower center without obstructing the eye. The eye is glossy with a white eyeball, a dark green iris, and a black pupil. The eyelids are the same bright olive green with a matte finish just like the petals. This sculpture was made in 2018 by hand sculpting molten glass.
