HUGE crowd at Huntsman Center tonight to hear @sanders.senate.gov and @aoc.bsky.social speak - incredible!!

Finished this late last night - just in time for book club tomorrow evening. It’s incredibly well researched and well written. I, like most people my age, distinctly remember watching this event unfold with my classmates. As an adult, I’m heartbroken to read the backstory.
On my porch - my Adirondack style rocking chair in the background, a wire table in the foreground. On the table is a hardback copy of the book Challenger by Adam Higginbotham. Also on the table is a blue water glass and a gold octagonal shaped paper plate with a brownie (made by my son’s girlfriend) with plastic wrap covering the brownie and plate. I wish I had known that when a pit escaped a yard and attacked my dog and me a couple months ago. Luckily, the owner was right there and managed to get his dog off mine. Unfortunately, same owner hasn’t responded when I asked him to cover my dog’s medical bills.
My sweet pup in a hip to toe hard splint wrapped with a cheetah print bandage. He has his head resting on a mustard colored pillow and he’s snuggled up with a few blankets. His eyes are half closed and he’s a little loopy from pain meds.

It was a great day to be at the Utah Capitol - huge turnout #handsoff
Leaving the protest, I’m standing with two friends (also middle aged women) and one friend is holding a sign that says “No Kings” with a picture of a crown behind it. There is a blossoming cherry tree in the foreground and the Utah state Capitol building is behind it and people have filled the lawn. Some are holding signs.

Winter break starts today! I have coffee, stacks of books, cozy blankets, a puppy to keep my feet warm, and absolutely nowhere to be ❤️

Put up my decs in my classroom 🍁
Narrow wooden shelving unit in my classroom. Top shelf has a framed Oh Happy Dani print: Diversity is the fruit, Equity is the root. A wire pumpkin, and a little bird wearing an orange bow toe and sporting a wee cap. There’s also a pine cone. On the middle shelf: a small basket full of pine cones with two more on the shelf around it and a wooden turkey that I made in a craft class ages ago. The bottom shelf has a framed quote - today is a good day for a good day. There’s a stuffed pumpkin (orange and white chevron stripes) to the left and to the right is a pine cone and a wooden pumpkin.

I only get morning sunshine on the weekends now - the air is cold & crisp, the coffee is delicious, and I have several hours of leaf raking in my immediate future.
Holding a cup of coffee in my left hand (the mug is handmade with turquoise on the bottom and brown on the top) and I have a paisley print blanket on my lap (cream and turquoise)

I don’t mind a crisp fall morning - cozy in blankets, a hoodie over my jammies, hot coffee, and morning sun.

How about a rain suit?
I’m sitting on a dock next to the Kenai River. My legs are out in front of my and I’m leaning back on my hands. I’m dressed in a yellow rain jacket and yellow rain pants and black rubber boots. I look especially puffy because I have several fleece jackets under the rain coat.
