On this date, our nation observes the official end of slavery. It was on June 19, 1865, that Union troops arrived in Texas to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation, more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln issued it. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021.

APA endorses the Aviation Medication Transparency Act of 2025, which would require the FAA to publish a comprehensive list of medications that can and cannot be prescribed to airmen with first-class medical certificates.
