Mooie beelden!

New paper led by PhD Mark Rademaker showing (with AI) that the #WaddenSea benthic invertebrate community is stable with many weak positive interactions between species. Many that were so far unknown and warrant further investigation #SIBES esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

New paper led by Paula de la Barra showing how populations of Sand mason worms grow after mild winters, and that a higher density of this habitat forming species allow a higher biodiversity. Perhaps the silver lining of the climate crisis. #SIBES nsojournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

Our milestone #SIBES publication is out! We describe methods and share data of this huge sampling effort. We hope it will stimulate research, forge collaborations, and allow evidence-based management of the UNESCO #waddensea. Read the paper here: www.nature.com/articles/s41... #macrozoobenthos

New #SWIMWAY paper on #movementecology of grey mullets by PhD Jena Edwards showing #migration between the #WaddenSea and southern #NorthSea. Locally, thinlip mullets are more mobile than thicklips, and occur at lower salinities.

Here, a teaser (lnkd.in/dez8eSsV) for a documentary about gas extraction in the UNESCO site #Wadden Sea: "Dilemma Ternaard". Tomorrow, it will be aired on NPO2 at 15:30. These shots are beautiful and I am already curious to see the rest!
