Hey listen if you wanna have a genuine conversation like me and the other person did. I’m really happy to do that. But if you’re just going to be condescending and talk down to me I’m not super interested in continuing it. I made my points with the other person. We came to a good conclusion. Read

Itself before we remove the item they need to survive. Which was my point at the beginning. It would be devastating to a specific group of people given our current short comings in providing clean drinking water to all

I was responding to the initial response where they did say to ban them both. So it was an unintentional strawman tbh.
My main concern is I don’t care if it’s a fraction of a percent. If ANYONE is in a situation where they rely heavily on something I think we need to address the issue

Is insanely classist. Accessibility to clean water is a human right. And many poorer communities do not have clean public drinking water. Once that is solved, I completely agree. Ban the sale of single use plastic.

Okay you’re giving me data from Rome. I’m talking about places like flint Michigan where they are STILL suffering from a water crisis and its effects. Until we can ensure EVERYONE has COMPLETELY CLEAN WATER. Banning the cheapest and most accessible option in favor of a more expensive alternative

Extra could be devastating. I’m aware there ARE alternatives. I guess what I’m asking is what would be a feasible replacement for plastic that wouldn’t price lower class people out of clean, accessible drinking water. I don’t think it’s a crazy question.

Right no I understand that. But if we go back to aluminum, glass. Which have their own environmental and ethical issues, the cost of these items would surely go up a LOT. Soda idc about that price can raise. But for places with no clean drinking water and low income. Even a couple dollars
