I don't think either of those things are true. He talked about how they weren't trying to make it cheaper (true) and then pointed to DeepSeek as an example of what could have been done in the US if efficiency was a goal, but it wasn't and still isn't, with US firms still dumping $ into more compute.

I don't think AI could replace the value created by most writers or artists. But we can definitely replace Tom Brevoort with AI. In fact, the sooner, the better. AI would never hire a bunch of women hoping one woild be its girlfriend.
