Yes. That is a key problem and I think is due to the way we very poorly educate people on how to learn.

Knowing to prompt an LLM you are searching for references to confront you with contradictory info if it is more accepted/better supported is not something most would think nor are trained to do.

People are vulnerable and predators are using LLM’s to further harm against such groups without showing much benefit outside of specific use cases where LLM’s are great.

I say this more as explanation than excusing some of the unthinking behavior.

People are trying to protect the little they have.

There’s a lot of knee-jerk negativity about LLM’s due to the misrepresentation of their capabilities and limits as well as the way they’re marketed.

Compounding that is the way they were developed via wholesale theft of IP on a scale never witnessed before.
