I often speak without thinking, and also sometimes think without speaking. My autobiography should be called "Reading Too Much Into It." (he/him)🏳️‍🌈♾️
Having been the nurse in these situations, my default question for patients was "You have family with you today?" while looking over at the other person. Friends are usually not insulted by calling them family, but mistaking family for "just a friend" is a minefield.

Looks like you can buy it a few places. They mention Kroger, Publix, and Safeway grocery stores on their site: www.freshcravings.com/where-to-buy/ They make a pizza hummus that sounds interesting, too?

Today, you are at the mercy of the unreliable motion detection system. I missed capturing some vandalism where a front porch light was broken, just because the Ring camera didn't recognize it as a "person" or "package."

If it's a technical limitation that it be a single word, is it possible to use a hyphen? It's not exactly proper grammar, but "common-interests" or "shared-interests" might be what you are after, and the code might still parse it as one word?

That is still how they handle the personal "unlimited" PC backups by default, but they do offer the option to add an unrecoverable Personal Encryption Key. Files cannot be decrypted without that PEK, which they claim to never store.

I may have not been clear that I actually agree with you. I would only take exception to the "risk is now virtually nonexistent." A number of factors, including new classes of meds, make the risk higher than it was even a few years ago. The risk of aspiration is low-probability, but high-impact.

This was a fun and challenging feature to build, so happy it's finally rolling out!

If you wanna read a bit about how I built the backend for it, check out this blog post - jazco.dev/2024/04/20/r...

Roaring Bitmaps are a really neat datastructure and have a lot of uses in large-scale systems :)

It's wild to me, because some of us seem to have an overabundance of empathy. I am mortified if I've hurt someone's feelings unintentionally -- though I might struggle to figure out what I said or did to cause it.

A dear friend's husband, who spoke English as a second language, never quite learned to swear properly. So his version of "WTF" was "What the shit thing?" Now I use the phrase myself, and it always makes me smile.

Sounds interesting, but I could do without this bit in the description.

I'm torn ... it is a shitty thing to joke about, especially as a manager. Don't ever do that. But I'm kind of on board with just the last part? We're adults, if you need to take off then take off. Don't even tell me what it's for -- none of my business unless you want it to be.

You are correct, I did oversimply in my frustration. I find myself a bit cynical and hopeless over the conditions in my home state, which seems to have been taken over by that slight majority.
