I lagitametly never heard of this game until everyone here started bitching it didn't get nominated. However I feel like that's the point. The development team behind this game, or some random Vtuber said "let's cry about this game to get its numbers up" and it snowballed into an ad campaign.

I'm sorry, I think GOTY has gotten as trivial as any other award show. But even I think it's unfair to nominate a developer for there first popular game. If you look at most GOTY games, there developers had at least one game that stood out in the library prior. You can't win for trying ppl.

You know what would have probably been a more sustainable venture for these Ai and NFT bros? Vtubering. They could have developed Vtuber bases and employed a bunch of people to be Vtubers. There are barely any corporations to compete with. They could have been far more successful doing that.
