"body neutral" is boring and was made up by a thin white lady who felt left out of what cool fat people were doing, change my mind (you can't).

attention is the modern currency, and capitalism is serving us a billion ways to spend it so we're too broke for real change.

I’m praying for you, not in an organized religion way, and also not in a new age woo woo way, but in a secret 3rd way (boarded up behind a wall like an anchoress).

marrying an eagles fan and becoming a bird wife has really opened my eyes to how professional sports are longer running real housewives franchises.

the highlight of my day has been learning that birds have regional accents. I sent the video to like five friends who I thought would also find it exciting, chain email style. then I turned into my grandfather and walked into the sea.

"food noise" is not the enemy. "food noise" is an alarm from the nervous system that it is seeking safety. the traumatized nervous system has learned that hunger is an effective way of getting people's attention.

if MAHA truly cared about children's health, they'd make gun violence a priority. they'd make housing stability a priority. they'd make health care for all a priority. a child's longterm health has way more too do with early life stress and allostatic load than seed oils.

🛑STOP!🛑

If you haven’t called your reps today on the decision to shutter the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau here is your reminder to do so.

Try calling the local offices in addition to the DC office. I’ve found the local offices are more likely to answer.

And especially call GOP reps.

Obvious to humanities folks but not STEM folks: thinking in computer code/formal languages over natural languages is not good for the human brain in the long term as language becomes a system for executing commands, not communicating thought and emotion; stunts growth and promotes absolutism

"Dominant culture asks us to normalize the harm it creates as it marginalizes people instead of framing what is happening as traumatic."-Finding Refuge

None of this is normal.

It is deeply heartbreaking and harmful.

every single client I've seen in the last two and a half weeks has had pain flares, poor sleep, tummy drama - and every person says "I don't know what's causing this!" 😂 could it be... the world at large?

therapy client asked me what was the point of "feeling your feelings." fair question! for me right now, embodiment prevents accumulating chronic stress. preventing chronic stress prevents illness, exhaustion, and burnt out. and I have a list of people to outlive that is getting longer by the day.

By nature I'm kind of immune to getting doom-pilled on an existential level which is a blessing. The world is just too big and you feel it. Too much to love, too much joy to keep alive, emotions too big, time still moving, things to be done every day.
