I am a programmer, cosplayer, belly dancer, fiber artist, larper, gamer, and cat lady. I'm interested in historical-ish costuming and dress too.
Taming my fabric hoard yesterday with comic book boards, plastic alligator clips, and some patience. Still a lot to go.

My nine handspun skeins from my first year of spinning that made weight to enter at the Texas Fleece and Fiber Festival.

The sock yarn I'm knitting is Araucania Yarns Huasco Sock Prism Paints in "Hologram" which is UV reactive.

Starting to look like the top of a sock. I can see why second sock syndrome is a thing. I like how the colors are repeating.

Some progress... It looks like my best bet is to clean my craft office room and sew my medieval pants before the end of the year.

Hopefully, this will become socks. I am still working on my bingo card.

Fixed the tension rod on the rescued inkle/card loom. I worked a Ladoga pattern band in commercial 100% wool yarn, and I'm super pleased. Some of the posts are wonky, but they work.

It is raining. I'm gonna go make a nice cup of tea about it and survey my yard as it gets watered with Zula.

Very glad I got some mowing done yesterday.

She can take that off anytime she wants. She just doesn't like trying to squeeze under the door with it on.

Tour de Fleece Day 23: I did it! All but one of these skeins were started and finished during this year's run. 8 skeins/mini skeins. I just sat down from wet finishing them + 2 more skeins from stash. Last spin came out of the food dye Leister Longwool in my first fractal. Diva catten is QA.

Tour de Fleece Day 22: I finished spinning the single and plying the unknown fiber. I think this spindle might need a notch cut to keep the cop from unwinding when spinning singles.
Ms. Maia the catten is my lovely assistant showing off the completed singles.

Toure de Fleece Day 21: I think I am figuring out this spindle. Starting to run low on the mystery fiber.
July 26, 2025 at 3:47 AM
Tour de Fleece Day 20: more spinning of the unknown fiber on the experimental spindle. This is some slippery fiber. It has some guard hairs, so I wonder if it is Alpaca or Llama?
July 25, 2025 at 12:08 AM
Tour de Fleece Day 18: The Navajo Churro is plied, and I continued combing more of the food coloring dyed Leister longwool.

I have so many skeins that need a bath!
July 23, 2025 at 3:24 AM
Toure de Fleece Day 17: I finished my Navajo Churro single spins with a little "Help" from Diva. I was too focused on the roving to fill the second bobbin very evenly. I see a very big plying bracelet in my future.

Tour de Fleece Day 16: Cutting it close tonight, but I put some more yrds on the bobbin for my Navajo Churro spin. Combed 1 oz dyed yesterday into forbidden cotton candy.

Stuff for embroidery stand & bigger inkle loom repairs was acquired. Need energy for time with the drill press & miter saw.

Tour de Fleece Day 15: I got together with my fiber friend and we did boil in bag dying with food colors and citric acid. Then we went to our local yarn store for their spinning social. I picked up some yarn for card weaving and a reed for the Bernat loom too.

Tour de Fleece Day 14: I finished plying the single from my Turkish Spindle. Tomorrow is gonna be sort of a challenge day for me. Congrats on two weeks folks.
July 19, 2025 at 3:51 AM
Tour de Fleece Day 13: Today, I started plying my tiny yarn on the turkish spindle.
July 18, 2025 at 3:56 AM
Tour de Fleece Day 12: Simply more thread singles. I think my turtle is getting too heavy, so I might start plying it up.
July 17, 2025 at 2:08 AM
Tour de Fleece Day 11: Today is a rest day, but I put a couple more yards onto my turkish spindle. I also checked on how well the Leister Longwool is drying. Time was also spent figuring out the best paths for card woven bands and repairs needed on my Inkle looms.

So Princess Jehnna likes some of my fiber tools a little much... I wonder if she is part teething puppy... Most of her damage was done when she was pregnant past year with the 4 surprise kittens.

I guess my tools have some character now.

Tour de Fleece Day 10: Today was a challenge day so we decided to go spindle spin at the park. I'm still making more thread for now.

I'm also working on scouring the Leister tonight.
July 15, 2025 at 2:32 AM
Tour de Fleece Day 9: I did technically spin today because I was up very late watching anime. I also changed the water my Leister longwool is soaking in and made a Gulf Coast Native batt into roving with my diz.
July 14, 2025 at 2:31 AM
Tour de Fleece Day 8: Now for something completely different, back to my never-ending thread on a Turkish spindle. My missing package came in last night, and 2lbs of leister are cold soaking.
July 13, 2025 at 3:20 AM
Tour de Fleece Day 7: Zula helped me out while I finished spinning the last of Cocoa's Fall 2024 fleece.

Good thing I have more goodies to be spinning, including some Leister Longwool, Gulf Coast native and Navaho Churro in the stash.
