I wish we had access to better amps and things in those days. I had no idea that small valve amps turned up a bit sound great in the studio. I know Torquil feels the same way.

It wasn’t so much that he left us for bob, it was the fact that he did it 2 days before we were supposed to go on a mini tour. In retrospect we should have broken his wrists hahahaha

Not quite, we played downstairs at the Clarendon in December 86 and at a College whose name I forgot in February 87. They were both a bit crap, this was definitely our first “proper” show.

Loop were rubbish. Prog rock in winklepicker Chelsea boots. The ginger one went on to launch the careers of the Strokes and the Libertines & should be publicly flogged.

This was a great night out. I was “unwell” on the night bus on the way home. Not my proudest moment
